Why Coastal Water Center/ NYMW 
is important

To the Community on the Local Level

Revitalizes and grows local businesses, drives increases in tourist traffic, keeps the community in the media.

For Manhattan
Unique attraction for tourists, possible additional revenue stream from tourists, keeps NYC water infrastructure transparent and apparent which facilitates better use and all around awareness by a broad base, protects our waterways, saves water, and protects public health

For the World
Spreads the idea of a multidisciplinary look at water from the academic and public service sectors into an accessible forum for the public and business sectors.

For Our Future
Provides a clearinghouse that sustains actions and awareness that promote our childrens' access to ample and clean water.
